This month we shine the spotlight on Karen McNamara, a Project Manager on assignment for the State of Delaware. Let's take a moment to learn more about her in this month's Fast Five: Years and projects worked on at PSCI? I've had the pleasure of working with PSCI for almost a full year. Currently, I am leading the cloud-based implementation of the e-Permitting solution, across the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC) organization. What was your first paying job? At the young age of 10 I ran the candy counter at our family's small corner store and deli. It provided me with an excellent opportunity to learn, grow and make a little money, not to mention my early engagement with customers and vendors interaction. Favorite weekend hobby? Refinishing furniture. What would people be surprised to learn about you? I've had the good fortune to travel early in my career; taking me to six of the seven continents and yet I haven't been to Hawaii!? I hope to remedy this in the near future though. What separates PSCI from other consulting firms you've worked with? Although I have not previously worked for a consulting firm, I certainly have interacted and worked closely with consulting firms as a part of my day-to-day role; across multiple companies. It was obvious from my initial conversation that PSCI stands apart from others in their field. The folks who manage the key functional areas across PSCI are knowledgeable, responsive and all around a wonderful source of information and support! It's clear they care about their people. The One Single Most Important Thing to Improve Your Job Interview Results Girls Spark Conference ​The Girls Spark Conference is a single day retreat for high school girls that will be held April 6 on the Delaware Community College campus. The event, created by and for high school girls, will gather community women leaders in an effort to help address the unique social issues young women face. Their mission is to ignite awareness, overcome adversity, and inspire change in today's world. There will be 7 breakout sessions throughout the day which will include a session entitled "On to the Next Chapter" - a Q&A with a panel of college students from surrounding area colleges and universities. The daughter of HR Director Patricia Brittingham (who will be volunteering at the event), Jennifer, will be a member of this panel.
